This is something that would/should greatly depend on what your goals are and what you have knowledge/experience in.

All of those categories are popular, but that means that they are very competitive as well.

However, my opinion has always been to blog about something that you really like and/or are very interested in. It will make it easier to blog about something like that rather than something you don't like or don't know much about.

I say pick whichever you like the best and just go with it and see what happens. If you can, pick a couple different ones and see which takes off and go from there. :)

Lets try and tie all of this together. Me personally... I would pick a single one Wordpress theme. I will just say the Divi theme as an example ( might actually be a good theme to use - but I can think of better ones ) I would start posting articles on that theme and that theme only. how to install this plugin on the divi theme.. how to use woocommerce with the divi theme.. here is some CSS for the Divi theme... how to correct this or modify that.

Then you can add in some of the other topics... what hosting providers work well with the divi theme? Self improvement... could be in a more technical manor.. learning "Wordpress" and more specifically the Divi theme. How to use the Divi theme to work from home... How to convert the Divi theme into a Internet marketing machine.

I could go on and on here... Pinpointing a topic like this and drilling down that deep allows for you to reach all of the topics of interest and maintain Context within your site... the affiliate offers are about endless as well... Divi itself would be an affiliate offer.

Hey,
All categories are good, but it depends on your content. What you right will be the fresh and unique in niche category.
Social media marketing, digital marketing are the hot topics to write on.

Of course you should go for it! It's a whole lot easier writing content for a blog if you have a passion for what you're writing about. What interests you, specifically? Do your interests align with others? Would they be interested on your take? You might love frogs, but is there a market for frog blogs? Here's one. Any type of "How To" blog normally goes over well.

Do the world a favor and create a blog about WHATEVER topic YOU
want to blog about. I am so tired of hearing people say "oh, don't do
this because it's a saturated market". (SEE DISCLAIMER BELOW)

You know what?

According to the US Census Bureau, the world's population reached 7
Billion people -- 7 BILLION PEOPLE -- on March 12, 2012. That was
4 years ago, so I can only imagine what it would be now...

In my opinion, especially with blogs, there is no such thing as a saturated
market. AND it doesn't even matter (completely) whether or not you know
for sure that there are others interested in the same thing as you.

As long as you write about something that you, yourself, are passionate about,
who cares. With 7 BILLION PEOPLE WORLDWIDE, of course there are others
who are interested, even if it is about one legged panda named Hermashee, who
is living in the mines of South Africa or the sexual fetishes of the Scandinavian
hermit crabs...

It doesn't matter, there are tons of people who will be interested.

The trick, however, is to find those people and market to them. Which, once
you find them, marketing is the easy part (if and when done right) since it's a
subject they are interested in.

DISCLAIMER
Now, before ANYONE goes off on a tangent, I am NOT proposing that ANYONE
here said anything about saturation and I am not down-talking those who did
and will mention others having an interest. So, please, anyone who has or will
post, please do NOT take any of what I said as a dig against you or your post
in ANY way... I am merely explaining that if someone truly wants to start a blog
site, the world is a big enough place that content and market saturation should
definitely NOT be defining or determining factors alone.

Ooh, and @SenseiSteve, there is SO indeed a market for frog blogs. I LOVE frogs.
In fact, 40% of my tats are frog related, so nener nener nener, LOL... :tease:
